John H. McCall, who made his fortune with beauty supplies and earned the nickname, Shampoo King, is a patron of the arts and a fan of modern architecture. He built the Retreat at Lick Creek Lodge, near Austin, Texas as a place where artists could perform, practice or just hang out. The lodge/home was designed by an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright and is now for sale at $17.5 million.
