Kristen Wiig Buys Case Study House #10!
At the end of World War II, 'Art & Architecture' magazine commissioned a series of 36 homes to address the housing shortage that was a result of soldiers returning to civilian life and a prosperous economy. The homes were modernist design, mostly in the Los Angeles area by California architects who wanted to give the average American ideas for affordable homes using innovative techniques and new materials. Some of the homes were never built and some were built but later demolished or remodeled beyond recognition. Twenty four of the homes still exist including #10 that Kristen Wiig of 'Saturday Night Live' fame just bought for $2.96 million. beta.latimes.com
