Floridas New Great Beach Town Affordable Prices
Looking for a great beach town in South Florida that still has affordable pricing? One of the best beaches in Florida, close to Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton? A city famous for its excellent boating and fishing, an offshore living coral reef, and some of the bluest ocean water on the Atlantic Ocean?
According to the real estate website Trulia, the most recent median home sale prices (November 13, 2013 to February 14, 2014) in Pompano Beach was $145,000. For the same three month period, it was $265,000 in Fort Lauderdale, $180,000 for Hollywood, $230,000 for Boca Raton and $330,000 for Miami Beach condos and homes. While prices near the ocean or Intracoastal will definitely be higher than these median prices, Pompano Beach is the best beach town bargain in South Florida.
Pompano Beach is on a huge upward trend, well on its way to becoming one of Florida's best beach towns. The city just completed a $10 million beach beautification project and a 3-mile beach area with wide beaches, picnic shelters, play ground and even professional exercise equipment. There are already a good number of restaurants (Houston's, J Marks, Fish Shack) and shopping (Macy's) in Pompano Beach and construction starts soon on a huge entertainment area of restaurants, bars and shops just off the beach. The city is famous for its excellent boating and fishing, an offshore living coral reef, and some of the bluest ocean water on the Atlantic. A couple things that aren't new are Pompano's 1,000-foot-long free fishing pier, its world-famous Seafood Festival in April, and the Hillsboro Lighthouse (one of the most powerful lights in the world) at the northern end of the beach.
