Kara DioGuardi's 1923 French Chateau!
Easily recognized from her two years as a judge on American Idol, Kara DioGuardi is so much more than a pretty face. Instead, this wisp of a gal is a powerhouse songwriter, producer, music executive at Warner Brothers and a singer in her own right. Her songs have hit the charts sung by Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Celine Dion. This super talented musician has even authored a book and made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the Tony Award winning hit musical Chicago.
Kara has been splitting her time between Los Angeles and Prospect Harbor in Maine, but has decided to sell the Studio City home which she and her contractor husband, Mike McCuddy expanded and enhanced before making their more permanent move to Maine.
Studio City is the preferred location for those in the entertainment industry who want extra land and the feeling of privacy it affords. Kara and Mike’s French chateau-style house had gone untouched when they purchased it in 2007, so they went about a total restoration in addition to expanding its size. Sited on 3 gated acres, today its elegance is undeniable.
At 7,600 square feet on three gated acres, the home contains 6 bedrooms, 7 baths and is finished in Calacatta marble and herringbone-patterned walnut floors. There are striking beamed and vaulted ceilings, crystal chandeliers, fireplaces and huge arched French doors leading to landscaped outdoor seating areas. Of course there is the infinity pool, or it wouldn’t be California, and neighbors include Miley Cyrus and George Clooney.
American Idol judge was asking $7,995,000 for Studio City home. Now $6,995,000.
