Move over Mark Spitz, Carl Lewis, Jenny Thompson and Matt Biondi. Michael Phelps is the new greatest Olympian of all time. On July 31st, Michael passed Soviet gymnast Larissa Latynina for his 19th Olympic medal. And he did it in style, swimming the 4x200-meter freestyle anchor leg for the United States in a gold medal-winning performance.
So, how cool would it be to plunk your non-Olympic bod into Michael’s home? Permanently? Michael’s award-worthy bachelor pad in Baltimore is for sale. Of course, it’s on the water! Would you expect dry land? Probably something mid-America will never understand, but once you experience the ocean or large bodies of water, and especially if you win 19 Olympic Medals in it, you just can’t tear yourself away. After that, being landlocked, even the very thought of it, brings on tinges of claustrophobia. Michael would likely second that opinion. So is it any surprise that his fabulous condo has walls of glass overlooking Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in the historic Fells Point neighborhood?
Very loft-looking, sophisticated and spacious, the dramatic high ceilings, open floor plan and the wonderful water views give us that great airy feeling. No claustrophobia here! We also love the open stairway that takes us up four floors and onto the fifth floor rooftop garden with hot tub. Within its 4,080sf of living space, there are 3 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half baths, an eat-in kitchen with mid-range stainless appliances, raised panel cabinets and granite countertops. Happily, there is also an enclosed 2-car garage. A perfect home for glamorous entertaining, it is perfect for a family, a couple or can be enjoyed by a single such as Michael. Speculation is running rampant on Michael’s next choice.
